Tennis at the IC
Traditionally, the tennis program has been one of the Italian Center's strongest programs. Lead by Head Pro, Marc Lupinacci, there is a wide variety of options to choose from. Men and women's teams compete in the Fairfield County Tennis League as do several youth teams. In addition we offer group lessons, private lessons, tennis clinics and various tournaments for our members throughout the spring and summer season.
The IC has two different types of court surfaces to play on. The six Har-Tru courts were recently reconstructed in 2000 and are in ideal shape. Weather permitting, they open on May 1st and typically close around October 1st. They are open from 8:00am - 7:00pm on weekdays and from 8:00am - 5:00pm on weekends.
The four rear tennis courts were resurfaced in 2001 and are also illuminated for night play. They are open from 8:00am - 9:00pm on weekdays and from 8:00am - 5:00pm on weekends.
