The Italian Center of Stamford was established in 1909 to assist Italian Immigrants in assimilating into the American Culture. Over the intervening years our role as a Community Center has evolved to the point where we serve the entire community regardless of ethnic background. Our membership is as ethnically varied as the community we serve.
Despite this broadening of our role in Stamford and surrounding towns we continue to fulfill our mission of preserving, communicating and celebrating our rich Italian American culture. Many people have expressed a desire to participate in a meaningful way in the execution of our cultural mission.
The Cultural Membership will support an expanded budget to support the preservation and celebration of our culture. Members will be recognized at all cultural events.
The Cultural Membership will allow participation at a discounted rate in all Italian Center Cultural events. Such events include:
The Columbus Day Parade
Homemade Wine Judging Contest
Taste of Italy
Member Appreciation Day
Italian Language Classes
Italian Cooking Classes
Increased support of local efforts to highlight Italian Culture
Other events made possible by cultural membership support
Cultural Membership will be acknowledged for an individual donation of $500.00 per year, or a family donation of $750.00. Companies can show their support for an annual donation of $2,500.00, which entitles up to 5 company employees to participate in all events. There is also a special lifetime membership for a one time donation of $10,000.00. The Italian Center is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization so all donations may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Companies that choose to be Cultural Members may also choose to step up and become names sponsors of specific events. These opportunities can be discussed on an individual basis.
